Error Description

The SMPP error code 0x00000400 (decimal 1024) indicates:
“Insufficient Credit” – your account has exhausted its balance and cannot send additional messages until it's recharged.

    Root Cause

When your Cequens SMS account reaches zero available credit, the platform will block all new message submissions and return this error to your SMPP or API client.

You may encounter this error in:

  • submit_sm_resp messages

  • Delivery response logs

  • API responses (in credit-sensitive integrations)

   How to Resolve

  1. Verify Account Balance

    • Log in to the Cequens Communication Platform and check your current balance.

  2. Contact Your Account Manager

    • Reach out directly to your dedicated Cequens Account Manager to:

      • Recharge your account.

      • Discuss top-up methods (prepaid/postpaid).

  3. Enable Credit Notifications (Recommended)

    • Request that your account be configured to send alerts when credit falls below a predefined limit.

    • This helps you avoid unexpected traffic disruptions due to insufficient balance.

   Proactive Tip

Implement credit monitoring in your system by:

  • Polling the credit balance periodically.

  • Setting alerts in your dashboard when credit falls below your average daily usage.

  • Integrating with Cequens' Webhook or billing API (if enabled) to automate response actions (e.g., traffic reroute, usage throttling).
